Thomas Greaves

Mr. Greaves has 41 years experience in the computer industry, including 26 years at IBM. In 1996, he co-founded NetSchools Corporation, a pioneer in the field of comprehensive curriculum-integrated 1:1 laptop solutions. Mr. Greaves is recognized as a visionary in the conceptualization, design, engineering, and marketing of 1:1 technologies for schools. He has been involved in hundreds of 1:1 projects at the district, state, and federal levels. He has participated in the product marketing and development of over 200 award-winning educational software and hardware products. Mr. Greaves holds multiple patents and patent disclosures for student computing technologies.
Mr. Greaves serves on the board of the Global Schoolhouse Network and on the advisory boards for Hotmath, GoKnow and Project Inkwell. He has recently been named as the SIIA Mobility TrendsWatch Editor.
Mr. Greaves’ most recent project, along with co-producer Jeanne Hayes, is America’s Digital Schools, a syndicated study of the top 2,500 U.S. school districts. The survey provides numerous insights into the future of the digital school from the perspective of superintendents, curriculum directors, and technology directors over a five-year horizon.
